Glee Holiday Single Aids Grammy in the Schools

I know that there are plenty of children in this world who could use a safe place to live, medicine, clean water and good food. But I believe that it’s also important to nourish a child’s soul, not just his body and there’s nothing better for the soul than the arts.
Unfortunately, a huge number of schools here in the US have stripped the arts out of the curriculum as a result of budget cuts. That’s where programs such as Grammy in the Schools come into play. With their Grammy Camps, Signature Schools and outreach programs, Grammy in the Schools gives children the chance to experience the true joy that is music. And if you’re talking about “joy” and “music,” you have to be talking about Glee.
Fox’s breakout comedy hit, follows a group of high school misfits whose only refuge is the Glee Club. The series uses music as other shows use dialouge, expressing emotions, creating drama and breaking down stereotypes. Though the characters on the show often have it rough, the series itself is a beacon of hope that often sends viewers on a smiling / crying roller coaster as the kids deal with teen pregnancy, homosexuality, disabilities and peer pressure. It’s one of the most honest shows on TV and the stars feel truly blessed to be apart of it.
Music literally changed the lives of everyone associated with they show and that’s why they’re donating a part of the proceeds from their new holiday single to support music education through Grammy in the Schools.
Want to help? Simply visit iTunes and download Glee’s heartwarming take on “Last Christmas.” You’ll get a great song to add to your holiday playlist while giving one more child a chance to live his life through music. Can’t beat that.
