Share Your Shoes with Soles4Souls

Dig around in your closet and I bet you’ll find a pair of shoes you never wear. Like those purple pumps to go with that outfit you trashed last spring. Or the running shoes you bought when you decided you were going to run the marathon (then didn’t.)

Do yourself and the world a favor — dig out those old shoes and give them to Mandee.

From now through December 24, 2009, all 120 Mandee stores will be collecting donations of gently worn shoes on behalf of Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, and since 2005, they have given away over 5.5 million pairs of  shoes (currently donating one pair every 9 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.

In addition to collecting shoes this holiday season, Mandee customers can donate $1 at either the checkout counter or online at www.mandee.com to add to the $21,000 in cash they’ve already collected.  As a thank you for participation, everyone who donates will receive a 20% off discount coupon towards an item of their choice.

It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes lying in their closets. Soles4Souls can use each and every one of these pairs to make a tangible difference in someone’s life.
