The AfricaJack Foundation

One of the children AfricaJack met during a trip to Africa.
John Miller began the AfricaJack Foundation in 2006 after spending roughly fifteen years as consultant for many Fortune 100 companies. He put what he learned during that time to use in creating the foundation.
The AfricaJack Foundation focuses on helping children in sub-Saharan Africa who are affected by HIV/AIDS. They do this through donations and fundraisers, raising awareness, helping the people of sub-Saharan Africa make use of the resources they have, and sometimes going to Africa and getting directly involved in communities.
I had the opportunity to hear John “AfricaJack” Miller speak in 2008 at an event held by my sorority chapter (Iota Lambda, Phi Sigma Sigma, Metropolitan State College of Denver). He is passionate about his work. He helps not because he feels like he knows better or is better than those he’s helping, but because he believes in them and his Foundation. He truly believes that one or two people can generate enough interest and involvement to make a difference in the world.
I, for one, am optimistic enough to believe that.
